Blender Camera Controller Version 2.2.0 uses an Android client and a Blender 4.2 or later add-on. Local camera control does not depend on a cloud account, but both devices must be able to reach each other on the same local network.
| Component | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Blender add-on | Blender 4.2 or later |
| Android app | Android 11 or later |
| Network | Phone and computer on the same local network |
| Default control port | UDP 5005 |
| Camera control | An active Blender camera is recommended |
| Object control | A controlled object and reference camera must be configured |
Use 5 GHz Wi-Fi or faster when possible. A 2.4 GHz network can work, but it may add latency or visible motion jumps. USB tethering is also supported when Android reports it as the active connection. Do not use a VPN, proxy, guest Wi-Fi, or a network with client isolation during a live session.
For ports and server roles, read Network and Ports.
The app checks two independent capabilities:
Rotation Sensor support does not guarantee World Tracking support. The Connection screen shows the status of both capabilities. See Sensors and Tracking and Supported Devices and Sensors.
Camera permission is required to scan the Blender QR code and to use World Tracking. Internet access is needed for downloads, first-run dependency installation, and license verification. Normal local control uses your local network connection to Blender.
