Sensors and Tracking

The app offers several ways to move a Blender camera or object. Choose the method that matches the device capability and the shot you want to create.

Motion Methods

Method Best for Requirement
Rotation Sensor Handheld orientation and camera aiming Compatible Android rotation sensor
World Tracking Physical position and orientation tracking ARCore-compatible Android device and camera permission
Walk and Height Controlled virtual translation Connected Blender session
Gesture Controls Touch-only camera movement Connected Blender session

Combining Controls

Rotation or World Tracking can provide orientation while Walk and Height controls provide deliberate translation. Gesture Controls are useful when sensor input is unavailable or a touch-first workflow is preferred.

Device Support

The Connection screen labels Rotation Sensor and World Tracking support separately. For details, see Rotation Sensor, World Tracking, and Supported Devices and Sensors.

If tracking is unstable or unsupported, use Sensor and World Tracking Troubleshooting.
