Rotation Sensor Control
Rotation Sensor control maps the Android device orientation to the selected Blender target. It is useful for handheld framing and for combining camera aim with Walk and Height movement.
Start and Recenter
- Confirm that the Connection screen reports Rotation support.
- Connect to Blender and enable Rotation from the mode bar.
- Hold the phone in a comfortable reference orientation.
- Tap Reset Rotation when you want the current device orientation to become the new reference.
Helpful Controls
- Horizon Lock can limit unwanted horizon roll behavior.
- Walk adds directional and vertical translation while rotation remains active.
- Smooth Filter Settings can reduce noise at the cost of responsiveness.
- Stop Rotation when switching to a touch-only workflow.
If the option is unavailable, the device does not expose the required rotation sensor. See Sensor and World Tracking Troubleshooting.
