Connection Troubleshooting
The app connects directly to Blender over your local network. Both devices can have internet access and still fail to connect if local device-to-device traffic is blocked.
Follow This Order
- Stop and start the Blender server, then try again.
- Restart Blender, start the server again, and retry.
- Confirm that the app IP address and UDP port exactly match Blender. Scan the QR code again if you are unsure.
- Confirm phone and computer are on the same LAN. Do not leave the phone on mobile data while the computer is on Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
- Disable VPN and proxy services.
- Allow Blender and related Python processes through your firewall or antivirus on the private network.
- Avoid guest Wi-Fi, AP isolation, client isolation, intranet blocking, and device-isolation settings.
- Check for mesh, VLAN, parental-control, office, or managed-network segmentation.
- Prefer 5 GHz Wi-Fi or try USB tethering.
- Check Version Mismatch.
QR and Endpoint Errors
Grant camera access for QR scanning. If scanning says the code is invalid, missing IP/port, or contains an invalid IP/port, regenerate the code in Blender and scan it again. Manual entry is useful only when it exactly matches the add-on server panel.
Connection Lost During Controls
If the app reports a lost connection, return to the server status first. A changed network, stopped Blender server, firewall event, or Blender interruption can end the session. Reconnect after the server is online.
